Pastor Philip Larson
Pastor Phil was born and raised on a dairy farm in SW Minnesota. Although brought up to know about and respect God, he never knew Jesus as personal Lord and Savior until friends shared the Gospel while he served as Captain of the football team and President of the student body at the University of Minnesota, Crookston.
After completing degrees in Horticulture and Landscape Design, Philip graduated from Rhema Bible Training Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma, with an emphasis in pastoral ministry, and married Donna, whom he had met while attending college in Crookston.
The couple pioneered a church in Princeton, Minnesota in the fall of 1984 with four families interested in bringing the message of the Word of Faith to their community. Initially established as First Love Fellowship, the church’s name was changed to Eternity Church in 2010 to more accurately reflect its purpose and emphases.
The earmark of Pastor Phil’s ministry is the practical application of God’s word and power to everyday life. A dedicated man of prayer, his hallmark scripture is First Corinthians 2:4-5: “And my speech and preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and power, that your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.”
Pastor Phil has begun a church, still thriving today, in Thief River Falls, Minnesota, and he is a former director of Rhema Ministerial Association International for the state of Minnesota. He enjoys travel and has brought the message of God’s redemption and power to ministers and villagers in Uganda, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Ghana, Canada, Poland and the Czech Republic. Besides being a pastor and teacher, Pastor Phil has been entrusted with a prolific healing ministry that has grown in scope and effectiveness in recent years.
Along with Donna, Phil’s greatest joy and accomplishment are their three beautiful daughters, two sons-in-law, and two (so far!) grandchildren -- all who love and serve God with joy and zeal. Besides spending time with family, Pastor Phil enjoys WWII history, Twins baseball, vacationing with his wife via cruise ship, and beating competitors at Canasta or the board game Star Wars: Epic Duels.
