A Mission is that which supports and makes possible the fulfillment of a God- given Vision.
Briefly stated, the Mission of Eternity Church is: COME, GROW, SERVE, GO
COME: According to scripture, every believer is to be an active part of a local church. Gathering together with other believers in worship, prayer, study of the Word, and fellowship is a vital part of our lives as Christians. The Bible is clear when it says in Hebrews 10:25 that we are not to neglect the assembling together of believers.
GROW: God never intended for any of us to remain spiritual babies. In fact, we are commanded by scripture to grow up and take our place of service in the local church and body of Christ. Spiritual growth may be likened to physical growth in that it requires three things. First, we must “eat” properly by hearing the Word as it is preached, taught and personally spoken and meditated upon. Second, we must exercise and grow stronger by putting to practice that which we have learned. And, finally, growth requires time and loving oversight as we navigate the transitions from child to adolescent, and from teen to adult.
SERVE: A mature Christian is one who can shoulder responsibility – for his own life, and then the lives of others. As we learn and grow, we will see this wonderful transformation. We no longer view church as a place that exists to merely benefit and bless us. We see it as a place we can come to, bring others, give, grow and serve. In Matthew 20:27-28 Jesus said we are to follow His example and serve others. There is no greater love than this!
GO: Mark 16:15-18 tells us that we are to "go into all the world and preach the Gospel." This is a mandate for every believer. Each of us has a "world" – a sphere of influence – made up of friends, neighbors, relatives, coworkers, etc. Our calling is to go into "our world" with the good news of the Gospel. As the Body of Christ, we are His hands and His feet. We are His representatives to a world that is crying out for the love and power of the Living God.
